Former Shabani Mine workers weigh in on mine revival talks

Former Shabani Mine employees have cast doubts at the prospect of the mine reopening soon amid government`s insistence that it is reviving operations at the asbestos mine.

One former employee who spoke to YAFM news on condition of anonymity said while the idea of reviving the mine is noble, there are a lot issues that have to be put in place before the mine starts functioning.

This come after the Mines Minister Walter Chidhakwa told the Senate last week that the mine is likely to open after the government established a market for asbestos in India.
