Mimosa constructs houses for orphans in Harare

 

The minister of labour and social welfare has applauded Mimosa mining company for playing a key role in ensuring quality living standards for orphans and vulnerable children.

Speaking at the official handover of Shungu Dzevana Children`s Village in Harare yesterday, Honourable Petronella Kagonye said organisation such as Mimosa Mining Company were playing a critical role in providing care for vulnerable children.

Speaking at the same event, the minister of mines and mining development minister Mr Winston Chitando urged other mining companies to playing a critical role in assisting government take care of vulnerable children.

Mr Chitando also highlighted that as the outgoing executive chairman for Mimosa mining company they saw a cause to help out and they constructed 2 houses which have the capacity to accommodate 40 children.

Shungu Dzevana was founded in 1992 and currently houses about 336 children.
